Greetings from Singapore

But – shhh! I’m not supposed to let people know I’m here (workshop politics 😉 )

Heh…but I AM here, and it seems I may be back out here too – my personality (?) coupled with my skillset makes me quite a useful chap it seems (and this isn’t me blowing my own trumpet – I’m actually blushing slightly as I type this…). Been a very successful trip all in all though – I was sent out here to resolve some issues with a web-based venture the company is involved in, done that in the first day really, the subsequent meeting to be honest, was just to ‘fill in’ the non-technical persons involved.

As part of my job, I’ve been dealing with different people in Singapore for some years now, and the last 2 days I’ve been able to put faces to names and meet some characters…Patrick and his wife Grace last night were 2 such people, and I was very honoured to be invited to their house for a meal and drinks.

As for contacts, well, I met the British Consulate’s under secretary who fancies himself as a bit of a pool player, so we’ve arranged to meet up tonight and have a few beers in town (can’t have too many though – I’m due at the airport for 7am for my flight home).

Everyone (both friends and work colleagues) thinks I’m on a ‘jolly’ here – but it really is very work related and this week has been a great week workwise – orders are now flying in and it seems every time I check the work emails, there’s another one there for me 🙂 (ok, now I AM blowing my own trumpet slightly… 😛 ).

And so, my latest adventure is almost over – tomorrow I go from this:

    To this:

Incidentally, the A380 is one hell of a plane – it’s fucking HUGE!

Well, I have today to myself, so I’m off into town to look around and do some shopping (yes, hold the front page –  I’M going shopping), got to meet Wang later just to go over our game plan – won’t take long though, without the others we can get as technical as we like – during the meetings everyone was looking at us as though we were speaking another language (well, we were – HTML, Asp.Net, Javascript, and such…).

And so, think I’ll go for a dip in the pool before grabbing a cab into town…y’all don’t appreciate how hard I work 🙂

    1. Singapore? Close to home!

    2. Damn. Damn damn damn. That sounds like a blast.

    3. I’d say hurry back, but why bother? Stay and get lost!

    4. wasn’t all that good, you didn’t get laid! HA!

    5. Hahaha leave iy to bu’er!

    6. Pffft…like I need to go halfway around the world to get laid.

I did go check out the whorehouse though – and I’ve never seen a more dingy, seedy place in my life – and the pub I drink in is no Ritz…I could get laid there with far less health worries.

Besides, I’m in a celibate phase (self imposed) until Spring 🙂

      1. Why? I mean, I’ve done the self-imposed celibacy thing, too, but I usually have a reason for it.
