Cellphones

Been a strange one today – I’m due my mobile phone upgrade so I rang them asking for the Samsung D600 (same phone I already have – but I’ve got a buyer lined up for my old one). They told me it would cost £120 for that particular model. I argued a bit about if I was a new customer I’d get it for free – they responded with “Well, that would be a new contract.” I countered with “Well, THIS would be me having a new 12 month contract.” O2 then offered a £60 discount. I said that paying £60 for a phone was still penalising existing customers. They then offered the £60 discount, and a £5 a month rebate on my monthly line rental. Ha! got ’em…the phone I wanted, for the price I wanted (nothing). Typically, the new phone will arrive while I’m out of town – nothing unusual there, it always falls like that.

Now for a quiet night in watching comedy shows and sipping a couple of beers (I got bought a case of Stella from Belgium by the landlord & landlady of The Globe which has just reopened after it’s refit – I’ll put some before and after pics up here at some point).
