How to cure minor depression…

Yesterday was Trish’s birthday, so I arranged to go for a couple of drinks with her and Harriett.

And so, there we were, sat outside the Priory in the glorious sunshine, drinking our drinks (pint of Stella for me, ‘Woo-woos’ for the ladies), chatting away and Trish mentioned the sex education series that’s recently been shown on TV over here. Not being a big TV watcher, I listened with a smile to her describing the show (well, she dwelt on the pensioners being naked and extreme close-ups.

She then went on to say how men shrink with age – I made a comment along the lines of “Oh great, I always wanted to be 6 feet tall, and now you tell me I’m gonna end up a dwarf…”

“Your dick shrinks too,” she added with a grin.

So, there you go – what I’ve to look forward to is getting shorter and having no penis…

Oh well, it’s Thursday – have a good ‘un.

I don't do cards etc.

But today would have been my dad’s birthday πŸ™‚ happy birthday dad.

Ewa's birthday…

Pictures are all up on Flickr, video I took is here:

Great night though, good indian meal, lots of vodka, inpromptu wander around the riverside park at about 2am…

Morocco in 14.5 hours πŸ™‚

70 hours…

And we’ll be taking off for Morocco πŸ™‚

I really should start thinking about packing I guess…so much to do: get a haircut, have a shave (although I look kinda Muslim with my beard I’ve been told). Got to give Brian (lodger #1) instructions on feeding Gif – the cat will try to get extra food, greedy fat bastard!

And tomorrow is Ewa’s (lodger #2) birthday – Dennis will be back so we’ll go out and celebrate that, then Saturday to recover a little and off Sunday morning. Poor Harriett – she said she’d drive us to the airport, but didn’t realise the flight is 6am – that’s messed up her Saturday night out, she’ll have to go out Friday instead πŸ˜€ I’ll have to see if she wants to come out with Dennis, Ewa, me and whoever else is coming tomorrow…

I’m definitely in FULL HOLIDAY MODE now, and that’s not good – I have to concentrate on my work for the next day and a half to make sure nothing goes wrong while I’m away. I have instruction books/parts lists to finish, few quotes to chase up – should make the day go fast though πŸ™‚

Oh, did I mention I’m off to Morocco on Sunday? πŸ™‚

EDIT: I booked my holiday week off back in November so everyone here knows I’ll not be here – wasn’t a problem 😐

Until…Air Seychelles called the other day – they need their jacks tested for the end of next week. Now, we’re absolutely snowed under in the workshop and can’t afford anyone to be gone for a few days, so this is the one time I would have got to go to the Seychelles…but I’ll be in Morocco πŸ™

I’m toying with the idea of asking if they do a flight from Morocco to Seychelles so I could take a day off to test the jacks…

But NO! I’ll be on holiday…

And the week I get back, I’ll be down testing in Bristol.

Recession? what fecking recession – we’ve never been so busy…

I must be getting old…

I was supposed to go for a few beers last night – Liam’s 19th, and Harriett’s 45th (Wednesday).

Couldn’t be bothered though – so I stayed home and had an early night. Got a great night’s sleep though, my phone battery died durig the night and so there was no alarm to wake me – thus I was rushing around like a headless (but well rested) chicken at 7.30.

Made it into work by 7.45 though – I rock!

I’m not old – I’m saving energy… πŸ˜‰

What a great weekend

It was my birthday yesterday – I’ve reached the ripe old age of 39 😯

Had a really good weekend though – and I didn;t even get so drunk I couldn’t talk, just had a couple of beers Friday (had to take Harriett’s car to get new tyres Saturday morning so didn’t want to be hungover), watched the game Saturday afternoon (it would have been so good if Spurs had beaten Arsenal – what a birthday present that would have been πŸ˜₯ ), met up with some friends in the evening and got quite tipsy, not too much though, I slipped off and left everyone quite early and went for a chinese meal on my own (sad huh?). Harriett came round and stayed the night then we went out for dinner Sunday – very enjoyable (and the food at the Royal Oak is great – WELL recommended).

I’m quite proud of the fact I turned in for work today – I’m not very good with Mondays, but I did tell everyone I’d be here as the boss is out of the country today and probably needed lots of stuff doing…
