A typical Monday…

Was a bit late in (only 20 minutes or so mind!) as I had a case of “can’t be bothered getting out of bed”, but soon got into the swing of things.

I was caught up in my work when Corina suddenly said “The clock’s stopped!” and indeed it had, at 8.45 (I’m not a clock watcher so I hadn’t noticed). Thought I may as well change the battery in it so took it off the wall, turned it over and there’re 4 batteries in it (world time zones etc.) which confused me initially – then I just took the battery from the New York clocklet and swapped that with the UK time (who needs to know the time in New York anyway?).

My Β£300 winning ticket from last week came at the right time – I need a new exhaust for my car. Funny how I seem to win money when it’s needed πŸ™‚ but fortuitous…

Beautiful sunny day here today – car was frozen slightly this morning, but it’s getting warmer – spring is in the air!

A friend advised me to drink less and eat more (along with exercise more too), so that’ll be Guinness sales down πŸ˜‰ not a bad idea though – in an ideal world, I’d like to put on about a stone, and keep my trim(ish) figure (no beer belly here – sit-ups get rid of THAT!). That way, when summer comes along, I’ll look pretty damn good for an oldie…

So, all I have to do, is work out when I’ll be eating my 5 meals a day, and what to have (I’ll draw up a rough ‘diet’ when I’ve got a few minutes) – no Arie, I don’t want your delicious looking lasagne 😐 but ideas for meals that’ll put some weight on me would be appreciated (I don’t eat cheese though – except on pizza, and I don’t like too much of that either…)

Break over – time to get back to work…

A Monday moan (or ‘Moanday’ if you prefer)

So, I woke up yesterday morning with the usual “I fucking hate Mondays” feeling, but managed to drag my sorry arse out of bed.

Went to jump in the car for work – fucksocks, a puncture (s’ok though – it was only flat at the bottom πŸ™‚ ). Grabbed the spare wheel and jack out of the boot, jacked the car up, removed wheel and put on the half-sized spare, meaning to run round to the tyre place and get it repaired. Great plan until I released the jack and noticed the spare wheel was flat too…arse.

Sent the boss a text “Got a puncture, I’ll be late in”, got an “OK” response, so went back to bed for an hour πŸ™‚

Finally got into work about 10.30 and, as the accountant was there with his secretary, the boss asked if I’d give them a few minutes – no problem, I went into the canteen, had a coffee and talked about football with the other Spurs supporters. Just finished my coffee when the boss came in: “Paul, this is gonna take a few hours – can you go and come back about 1?”

Yay! a free half day πŸ™‚

And that was my Monday – I still maintain they’re shit, but some are better than others

What a start to the week

Ah Mondays…

I was due down at Stansted today – testing at Ryanair and for Aeropeople. Good few hours down there in the pouring rain and howling wind (poetic licence FTW), got back to the office and, as the rain was lashing down drenching me, my key broke in the office lock – fucksocks.

Managed to get the broken half out of the lock, but how to get in? I had to use all my redundant skills in gaining access*, then sent the boss a text “Can you get me an office key cut – mine’s broken” fully expecting not to hear from him (it’s his birthday today) and semi preparing to spend the night in the office 😐

Luckily he turned up a few minutes later and told me where the spare was (it’s now on my keyring πŸ˜‰ ) so all’s well that ends well..

I hate Mondays…

* All this done in pouring rain – but nobody cares πŸ™

Happy Monday!

Lovely spring morning out today…and that’s put me in a good mood πŸ™‚

Well, the football results helped too – Spurs got 3 points for our win over Blackburn, and Sunderland did us a favour by holding Man City to a draw yesterday, so the table looks like this:

Premiership table

4th place is the coveted spot (in order to qualify for Champion’s League football next season) – and it’s strongly contested between Spurs, Man City, Liverpool, and Villa…we’ve got the goal difference over the other teams, City have a game in hand, and generally, there’s 9 games to play…

Nice and peaceful at work this morning – as always I’m the first in, good cup of coffee in my hand as I go through the emails and slowly bring myself into the week – now THIS is how to handle a Monday morning…

It's that day again…you know – THAT day…

On the bright side though, it’s 3.30 in the afternoon so it’s nearly over (well, the work part anyway).

What a strange weekend I had – it was all up and down (oh stop it, I meant emotionally). Worked out OK in the end though – I ended up with a handmade snooker cue worth about Β£300 for Β£50 :)and yesterday was all about eating – had one of the Royal Oak‘s HUGE Sunday roasts at lunchtime with Liam (I invited Harriett, but she had her kids). I picked her youngest up from her mum’s after dinner for her, and when we dropped her off, Harriett decided to join Liam and me for a post lunch pint. Meeting up with another mate we then ended up going for another roast at the Toby Carvery in Bedford (Harriett joined us for this). So, at this point, Liam and me had both had 2 big roast dinners.

After eating our fill, we returned to the Tudor for a couple more civilised drinks (ha!), it got boring, so Chan and me wandered into town. Nobody was out, so we had a couple of drinks then decided to head back to the Tudor…via the chicken place – mmm hot wings om nom nom.

Shame Spurs couldn’t beat Fulham on Sunday, but after a draw we get the replay at White Hart Lane, and the winners go on to a home tie against Portsmouth – so, Spurs are 2 good home wins away from a Wembley final against Chelsea (who should beat Aston Villa in the semis)…

Same ol', same ol'…

Well, it appears that I may be single again…not confirmed yet – but the “we need to talk about us” text last night kind of says it all (and the lack of replies to my calls/texts since).

Oh well. A good friend has informed me that Marina was too good for me – too pretty, and not enough of a pisshead. Thanks mate.

Bollocks. And now I’m stressed out while waiting for the inevitable call for ‘The Talkβ„’’

Oh, and it’s Monday too – fucksocks.

EDIT: Popped home at lunchtime ‘cos I had to get some petrol so took the opportunity to check my post. Now, remember a while back I won a trip for 2 to Milan for the weekend? πŸ™‚ well, I’ve won a trip for 2 to Paris for the weekend! woo!

Just have to figure out who to take with me now…

14-16=41 (Blame whabbs – it's her fucked up maths)

Ah, so here we are at Monday again…but it’s a GREAT day! πŸ™‚

Managed to get loads of housework done over the weekend – still lots to do though (I’ve neglected it for too long), so I’ll crack onto it when I finish tonight while I’ve still got the motivation.

Busy at work today – loads to do (which is nice – makes the day buzz by so fast), might be up in Manchester tomorrow so that’ll be a nice day out for me πŸ™‚

And what makes me even happier? whabbs’ news πŸ™‚ go girl!

Weeeee…

What a beautiful Monday morning! πŸ™‚

Ok, that’s enough sarcasm…

It IS a nice day right now, but looks like rain – and oh boy, do I want it to rain. I’m suffering from hayfever and it’s making me miserable (nothing to do with having no sex this morning AT ALL).

Had a great weekend – spent it down with Kathy πŸ™‚ this means I missed the barbeque that Dennis and Ewa hosted at mine Friday night…this was worrying as I got no calls/texts Saturday so I was thinking the worst…house is still standing though.

Here’s a pic of Kathy (she’s the one with the smaller nose):

Kathy

Oh, and football…Man Utd stole points from Spurs on Saturday with yet another dodgy refereeing decision – Gomes clearly got a hand to the ball, so there should never have been a penalty against Spurs. Without that, Gomes would have kept his cool and we’d have gone on to win the game. End. Of. Story.

I’m not allowed to say that Kathy a certain person is a witch – she merely predicted the correct score.

It’s only a game…

EDIT: So, apparently nettle tea is a ‘cure’ of sorts for hayfever. Well, it may be, but I couldn’t find any…I have nettle and peppermint tea, which I can reliably inform you is; TOTALLY FUCKING RANK!

This has been a public service announcement.

Oh, and it’s fucking hayfever you bastards – stop telling people I have swine flu!
