“I would like to thank many people. My doctors, nurses and hospital staff who are doing all they can for me, the British police who are pursuing my case with vigour and professionalism and are watching over me and my family. I would like to thank the British government for taking me under their care. I am honoured to be a British citizen. I would like to thank the British public for their messages of support and for the interest they have shown in my plight. I thank my wife Marina, who has stood by me. My love for her […]

Another win to maintain our unbeaten run in Europe this season and we stay top of the group. With only one game to play, Dinamo Bucharest need to beat us to stop us finishing top and getting the (allegedly) easier next round tie. Full match report here.

Well, I’m back from Dublin – and I have to admit, Guinness DOES taste much better over there (although I’ll have to sample some over here to make sure…). The work went well over there too – we got there at 7.30am. The other guys were taken from the plane direct to the hangar (bypassing customs and security), while I had to go get my bag (I’d checked it into the hold because I was carrying large metal pins). By the time I’d got my bag, been picked up by Ryanair, got my security pass and gone through the checkpoint […]

Another busy day at work…almost up to date reading BOFH. Sigh… Got an order in today – charging the customer an extortionate amount for some seals (usually I add 35% to the cost price – this time I added 360%) On other fronts – my elastic band ball is coming along well (approx. 80mm diameter): Soon be time to put it on Ebay…

So today I decided to do a backup (code for doing absolutely nothing while moving files about on the network). Of course, while all this is happening, I’m happily sitting drinking copious amounts of coffee and reading up on the BOFH. 10.15am and I’ve already eaten half my sandwiches…maybe I could find a quiet corner and have a nap… All this BOFH reading has made me realise I’m too nice…so I installed the bluescreen screensaver on Corina’s machine and set it to come on after 1 minute . Anyway, the boss has booked the flights to Dublin (good deal too […]

OK, while surfing about this afternoon (did I mention how busy I am?), I wandered onto The Register – a hilarious look at current events. This led me to the Bluescreen Screensaver and then I came across BOFH – you gotta read some of these…I am quite literally LMFAO

You know the thing – you think you’ve been hard at work for hours and you glance at the clock to find 10 minutes have passed. Here’s how I explain it, using the BASIC programming language: 10 start work 20 for a =1 to 2 step 0 30 next a 40 end work and THAT’s why some days go on for so long… BTW: line 20 has a ‘step 0’ command – this means the count will NEVER get to 2 Ah, BASIC…when monitors came in 2 colours – green text on a black screen, and only one font and […]

Last night the strangest thing happened – my internet connection dropped out at home…kind of. My PC couldn’t pull up any web page, even my router page. Sounds like a DNS problem huh? well, even trying the IP of my router gave a ‘page cannot be found’ error. The REALLY weird thing though, was my laptop could load pages normally. I checked to make sure no ports were blocked on the PC, nothing nasty running to stopme. It was just weird. Seemed to sort itself out later on though… I see chelski are still whinging about Sunday’s game: “The goal […]
