A pox on the gambling revolution

Friday afternoon at work, 3 of us decided (I talked the others into it) to have a bet on the football: Hull to beat Arsenal Spurs to beat Liverpool Burnley to beat Chelsea We all put in £2 each, and with the treble, stood to get £1500 back if all results came in…sadly, none of them did. We laughed and put it down to experience – £2 each was no big deal, we could afford to take the loss. A key point here though, was I had to go into the bookies to place the bet – I refuse to […]

    ANOTHER post? so soon?

It’s Friday people! 🙂 I’ll be finishing early today, then Lisa and I are off to the O2 for the Channel 4 Comedy Gala Spurs need one more win (from 2 remaining games) to confirm second place in the league. Now everyone says second place is just first loser, but all these people support the Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal et al who have all finished lower…this confuses me until I realise it’s all jealousy – jealousy of our players, of our manager, of the team’s fitness levels… 129 days until Mexico…

    Football gets its own post

So, last week was a crap week for the gooners – 4-0 down in the 1st leg of the Champion’s League means they are out of it unless they get a miracle against Milan (unlikely). The fact they lost 2-0 to Sunderland to get dumped out of the FA Cup was cause to put a bigger smile on my face, and Spurs travel to their place next Sunday where we can practically finish off their season by beating them (VERY likely). This, along with Spurs in 3rd position in the Premier League (10 points clear of the scum), a home […]

At last! a blog post (sort of)

So, Wednesday evening saw Tottenham play Everton – the game cancelled at the beginning of the season due to the Tottenham riots. Benoit Assou-Ekotto popped up with this beauty of a goal: Great player – and very down to earth too, here’s a pic of him after the game: Yes, a premiership footballer on lots of money getting the bus home. And that win takes us to joint second in the league 🙂 COYS!

    Huh?

From the UEFA website: The Control and Disciplinary Body has also imposed a one-match ban on the Tottenham Hotspur FC assistant manager Joe Jordan following incidents that took place at their UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg against AC Milan in Italy on 15 February. What the blithering fuck? he gets a ban for NOT punching the fuck outta Gattuso?

    Not our best game but…

WE FUCKING DID IT! into the quarter finals after beating AC Milan 1-0 on aggregate – great team spirit to keep them out (they were the best team on the night) – Sandro is my man of the match 🙂 I’m so fucking happy right now…my voice is gone, but we’re through to the quarter finals!!!! GET IN! And let’s hope someone kicks the fuck outta Flamini – the dirty ex-gooner fouling scumbag…he doesn’t deserve to get out of London tonight

Tuesday – and tonight is Champion’s League night! Spurs back at the San Siro…

Woop! Woop! 🙂 And we’re still holding onto 4th place in the Premiership above Chelski after they failed to beat Fulham last night… Last time at the San Siro, we were 4-0 down and down to 10 men at half-time – a Bale hat-trick in the second half saw us back from the brink. No Bale tonight though – he’s still out injured, but ‘Arry has said: Attacking football is what got us here in the first place. We have had a go all through this competition so we will have a right go again at San Siro. We can […]

    Football post – just a head’s up ;)

‮So, all these stories about Beckham coming (back home 😉 heh) to Spurs… My opinion? I’d love to see Becks on the training pitch with Lennon and Bale – there’s not a winger in the world wouldn’t learn from him skills crossing the ball. Free kick specialist? I’ll admit he’s scored some corkers, but I’m certain his hit/miss ratio is way down. Winger? for fuck’s sake – the guy only has to see someone in front of him and he seems to turn around – IMO he can’t run past a player – couldn’t (or mainly didn’t?) even when he […]
