It was the weekend of (what remains of) St Neots Carnival. Now, back when I was a kid (and the world was still black and white blah, blah, blah), this used to be held on Priory park – very handy, seeing as I lived just over the road from the park – and was a long weekend full of funfairs, fast food, and bustling crowds.
