Gobsmacked…totally speechless

When I go anywhere regarding work – I’m very professional being as I am, a representative of the company.

As such, I was completely astounded at this email I got this morning in response to a request for a quotation. As a bit of background, the person this is from is a very good looking Italian woman, so there’s no way I’d ever be rude. 2 years ago at the show, I expressed interest in maybe representing their company in the UK and Singapore – my boss decided to go with a Spanish company so I let Stefania know, thus keeping lines of communication open enabling us to get pricing for various things.

This year at the show, we again went to their stand, were (again) polite and discussed their products, picked up a few brochures for new things they’ve developed, and left it at that.

I emailed yesterday with a request for a quotation for some jacks, and got this back this morning:

    gobsmacked

I’m absolutely gobsmacked at this – but it turns out a competitor has been bad-mouthing our company to the competition, and this may be the result.

My feelings have been trampled by a very good looking woman here… 🙁

    1. Lucky she’s good looking. Usually when I get communications like that (which does happen on occasion), I mark the english and grammar then fax it back to them along with the notation ‘for any future queries on my alleged non-payment of invoices, please contact me in the first instance. If I could make it any easier for you than my current method of including the invoice number in the bank transaction and faxing you a remittance advice, please don’t hesitate to let me know’

      1. Well, given English isn’t her first language I figure I’ll let it slide…and she really does have fantastic legs 🙂

    2. Beautiful people are excused for their rudeness and lack of comprehension.
If she weren’t beautiful, what would you do or how would you have reacted if she were Joe Bloke?

      1. Not really sure…but I know their website…

    3. Oh yes, you never let me know. Did you get the e-mail with the recipe?

      1. Yes I did 🙂 thank you – I’l llet you know when I’ve tried it out…

    4. Interesting. Maybe she was upset because you DIDN’t come on to her? If she’s that beautiful, I’m sure she’s used to it. I don’t think just because someone is beautiful they should be excused for being rude. I am the opposite, if someone that I think is cute/hot/nice looking is rude, that totally makes me think they are ugly. Hope whatever she is talking about doesn’t go any further than just your email.

      1. I agree with bu’er and whabs. If someone good-looking is rude, that’s an instant turn-off. Most likely, they get away with being rude BECAUSE they’re beautiful. Bah.

    5. Oh, and, while I am not a beautiful Italian women with great legs, I think you are teh hawt, snee. I would totally watch videos with you over a BJ. Feel better now?

    6. snee is da man. you can get a woman to say she would watch videos with you over a BJ…now THAT’S power!! Huggs to you about your sister!! Holds my glass up to you and her!
