I’ve got one on me today it seems…

Friday – check, got paid – check.

Got an email from the local police force full of spelling mistakes, grammar errors, and not even a basic idea of punctuation – check.

    ๐Ÿ˜

So, is it wrong for me to reply to said email, highlighting the errors, and basically calling the original writer a illiterate twat wrong?

I hate text speak (or ‘TXT SPK’) and the associated lack of understanding of the English language when it comes to writing – I’m in no way perfect, but I try to make messages I type at least sound correct when I read it back to myself. Here’s a snippet from the email anyway:

We donโ€™t always work in uniform and take any opportunity we can to proactively patrol in plain clothes. An example of how successful this can be was in October when a man was seen by officers carrying a large full rucksack. He was stopped and meat worth more than ยฃ500 was found, which had been stolen from a shop in Brampton. A man has been charged with theft and remanded into custody.

The first 6 words work – add a ‘.’ after and be done with it ๐Ÿ˜‰ And why the fuck were the officers carrying a large full rucksack?
