I hate Lloyds bank
Been a hell of a day so far…I went to the ATM to get some cash out this morning and the damn thing kept my card – that made me ever so slightly upset. Got to work, checked my balance online – fine, definitely the right side of zero. Then I noticed my direct debits had been deleted AGAIN. Cue one irate phone call to the national line – guy there couldn’t really help so he gave me the local branch number (Lloyds TSB – if anyone’s interested in getting a bank account, forget these). I called up the branch, gave my name, address, DOB, account number, security answers (what apain in the ass it all is…I’m so used to internet banking) and was told “We closed your account on May 22.”. Whoa…you did what? why? “Well, we DID send you a letter…” oh, and if I actually received such a letter, do you think I would have continued to have my wages paid in? did it not cross your mind to maybe email me or put a notice on the online banking?
How the hell can they be allowed to close an account when it is in credit anyway? I had to take the morning off, go down the bank and get my money out (that was difficult enough – they started off with “We’ve already sent you a cheque…” to which they got: “Well, when I checked online not half an hour ago, it showed my account in credit and NOT closed – gimme my cash NOW!” – they finally complied), then onto another bank to open an account (Barclays this time – I’ll let you know of my experience with them). I’d planned ahead and took my passport, a utility bill, and my disclosure Scotland…surely they’d do. Well, yes, but the bill was too old (maximum 3 months old apparently) so I have to go back Friday afternoon and finalise everything…
I moved my picture gallery – I found a nice freeware utility that will take a directory of images and create a fully customisable photo gallery ready for uploading to a webserver (it even will do that for you too) – VERY simple to use, and VERY effective…take a look yourselves.
As I write more blurb on this page, I take out stuff from the bottom to ensure the page doesn’t get too big – as a result I took off the reference to the person I think a lot of, she happens to be Scottish (but I don’t hold that against her) and I love being with her, right now though, I’m not sure the feeling is reciprocated…
