today was ‘cast off’ day
I hardly slept last night I was so excited about finally getting the cast off. Then this morning the excitement turned to a kind of panic – what if they wanted to put another cast on? 😯
It felt so good when they cut off the cast and my foot could ‘breathe’ again though – the cut has an infection so I’m on a course of antibiotics for the next week (the celebrations are on hold…for now 😉 ). I WAS gonna put a picture of the cut on here, but decided to put it into it’s own gallery (for you foot freaks 🙄 )
I will put the photo I took of my x-ray – i tried to get a copy, but they wanted £30 for it.
I think it looks kinda cool – you can see the plate, screws and the staples. I didn’t think the plate would be quite so big – it’s certainly restricting movement in my ankle, although this may come back over time.
And so it goes on – I have to go see my doctor on Friday to get the cut dressed again, then back to the hospital on Tuesday to make sure the infection is all gone…then (I hope), that’s me all done 🙂
Memo to self: don’t go out on New Year’s Eve…
Yes I agree don’t go out NYE, or at least be careful….wish I could have been there to carry your drunk ass home. Just kidding, I am glad the cast is off….TAKE CARE of that infection, ok? 🙄
Do I have to teach you EVERYTHING? This is what you do. You tell your doc you have an appointment with a different doc, only you tell them the appointment is under 24 hours away, that way they will have no time to send it to the other doc, and they will have to release it to you. That really happened to me, and wouldn’t you know it…7 years later, I still have the x-rays 🙄 It’s not that it was totally intentional, but it wasn’t totally accidnetal either.
