Well, England qualified top of their group in the World Cup Finals without really looking very good. Well, the world cup finals are under way – England got a win in the first game but personally I’m not happy – Eriksson made some substitutions that were just WRONG – in football you just can’t sit back and defend a 1-0 advantage. Well, it’s been an interesting week to say the least… I got a mention in the LangaList (see link on the left) which resulted in my site getting a huge 2000 or so hits in 2 or 3 days. Been a strange one today – I’m due my mobile phone upgrade so I rang them asking for the Samsung D600 (same phone I already have – but I’ve got a buyer lined up for my old one). They told me it would cost £120 for that particular model. I argued a bit about if I was a new customer I’d get it for free – they responded with “Well, that would be a new contract.” I countered with “Well, THIS would be me having a new 12 month contract.” O2 then offered a £60 discount. Well, it’s all about football now – and more specifically – the World Cup…Eriksson has named his squad (see here). I must admit, I’m very happy to see Spurs players in the squad, but I expected to see Defoe in there too – admittedly he IS on standby (and most likely Rooney won’t be going) – but I never would have picked Crouch over Defoe. Looking at the midfield though, it makes you feel confident – so much strength and speed in there – and some goalscorers there too. I can’t wait…

Well fuck…last day and Spurs blew it. That’s all I have to say about it – I’m fucking gutted. I watched ‘V For Vendetta’ tonight – awesome film, I imagine it would lose something for the non-english watchers (that’s citizens of England, not english speaking). I have to confess that it did make me shed one or two tears…mind you, so did ‘Independance Day’ – I’m a sucker for films…so gullible I’ll believe anything. Anyway – 5 weeks until the world cup – come on England! I’m tempted to go have a bet…

Well, the final day of the Premiership is tomorrow – Spurs are still in 4th placewith a 1 point advantage over Arsenal – if we win at West Ham, we get 4th place and a Champion’s League slot for next season. Hard to believe there’s no football after tomorrow…until June 9th of course – World Cup 2006 kicks off then.
