    It gets worse

I had to edit this to add a tag (I’d forgotten to close the italic bit on yesterday’s rant), so I’ll have a quick blog. I need tea – I have a computer to sort out in 30 minutes… Spurs got an away draw yesterday despite being down to 10 men – Villa missed a penalty…or did Robbo save it? And so the year gets even shittier…my older sister passed away this afternoon, the only plus I can take from this is that dad never saw just how ill she was – nor did anyone else until only recently. I’ll […]

    I’m a blogging fool

3 days in a row??? am I sick or something? It’s just gone noon (I just got up – gonna be a lazy day today). I got to bed last night after celebrating a friend’s birthday with a considerable amount of alcohol, which usually means I fall straight asleep with no problem, except for the fact a car alarm started going off for 5 seconds or so…EVERY 10 SECONDS. I took this for about 3 minutes, then got some clothes on and went out to investigate. I must have spent 5 minutes or so kicking this damn white van until […]

    TGND

Well, the curse of the 13th hit work today – the computer used to do the bank transfers for the wages (the only one) refused to boot. Sigh, took me 45 minutes of coaxing and rubbing the secret places only the truly computer savvy know about *grins* before she burst into life. I advised the boss it might soon be time to replace her (the thought of new kit excites me more than it should). Popped over to TGND‘s web page earlier to read up on his latest blogging, seems he’s cracked the England football team problem – see here […]

    Another useless performance

What a horrible game that was last night – and that’s all I’m saying on the matter. Slow day at work today, so I’ve spent a few hours looking at various means to turn this into a proper indexed blog. The problem is, my ISP uses windoze web servers, so I can’t set file permissions (unix/linux servers allow you to CHMOD anything…). My old Mac really does seem to have died now (was running linux as my home web server) so I’m considering bringing my old Slowpoke back out of retirement – it’s currently running XP surprisingly well for a […]

    England used to be good…

Well, England didn’t play too well against Macedonia at the weekend – let’s hope they do better against Croatia tonight. What is it with £5 notes nowadays? they’re all looking very manky – old, ripped and generally worn out. It’s bad enough handling money that’s been in the dubiously clean hands of countless others, but they are especially bad. I guess it’s gonna be replaced with a coin soon – probably the size of a dinner plate… I’ve still not got around to writing (or even using a pre made) PHP script to turn this page into a ‘proper’ blog […]

I’m so busy – no time to blog

Been a while since I updated so I thought I’d take time out from my hectic work schedule *grin* and type some crap… The techy guy next door (I’ll refer to him as TGND from now on) has been bitten by the linux bug – he’s now gonna try to slide a linux box into the office for the others (not related to ‘Lost’ may I add…I don’t think) to use. It’s a good idea – I think I might try the same with the office minions here (they are SO set in their ways, even still using Outlook Express, […]

    Bloody computers

Well, what a day it’s been so far. It started out with one of the computers at work (the one the boss uses) refusing to boot up – it kept blue screening with a ‘PFN_LIST_CORRUPT’ error. Turns out that it’s related to bad memory though, so I pulled the memory out and borrowed one from the techy guy next door and voila! computer up and running again. The computer shops in town don’t stock SDRAM anymore, so I had to order some online – that should be here tomorrow (assuming the Post Office do their job…). Then, just before lunch, […]

    A short break

I had a few days break over the Bank Holiday weekend – just took it easy down at the caravan, read a couple of books, drank one or two beers and generally recharged my batteries. The caravan is on a site near (7 miles away) Great Yarmouth which apparently had floods the day or two before I got there. It was lovely weather while I was there though. Of course, in the evenings I propped up the bar in the clubhouse for a few pints which got me thinking – there’s all these kids running around, totally hyper on caffeine, […]
