A Monday moan (or ‘Moanday’ if you prefer)

So, I woke up yesterday morning with the usual “I fucking hate Mondays” feeling, but managed to drag my sorry arse out of bed. Went to jump in the car for work – fucksocks, a puncture (s’ok though – it was only flat at the bottom 🙂 ). Grabbed the spare wheel and jack out of the boot, jacked the car up, removed wheel and put on the half-sized spare, meaning to run round to the tyre place and get it repaired. Great plan until I released the jack and noticed the spare wheel was flat too…arse. Sent the boss […]

What a start to the week

Ah Mondays… I was due down at Stansted today – testing at Ryanair and for Aeropeople. Good few hours down there in the pouring rain and howling wind (poetic licence FTW), got back to the office and, as the rain was lashing down drenching me, my key broke in the office lock – fucksocks. Managed to get the broken half out of the lock, but how to get in? I had to use all my redundant skills in gaining access*, then sent the boss a text “Can you get me an office key cut – mine’s broken” fully expecting not […]

    Geek Friday

Geek quote: “Powerpoint is a tool used by tools to say nothing.” This made me snigger uncontrollably as the consultant we’ve got in to bring the ISO stuff up to date etc. insists on doing EVERYTHING in Powerpoint… Personally, the only MS product I use (other than Windows XP Pro) is Excel* – every other app is third party…Firefox for a browser, Thunderbird for email, PageMaker for layouts (I will take a look at InDesign sometime), and other Adobe products: Illustrator, Photoshop…the list goes on. * Think I’ll take off what little of Office is on my PC and install […]

    It’s the wait…

So, here I sit at 8.21am, waiting for the tickets for the Foo Fighters to go on sale for MK Bowl…this, today, is my “raison d’etre” 🙂 But while I wait (impatiently), I’ll type some random stuff here (no change there then huh?) Firstly, the papers are reporting that Bale is now worth £50 million to the big clubs – allegedly. I say allegedly, because Spurs would have to want to sell him (or him want to leave) for a figure to be actually put on him, and as Spurs now have a squad of committed long-term players who can […]

    I’ll say it again: un-fucking-believable…

Last night Spurs hosted InterMilan at the Lane – see the post below for the match at the San Siro, where Bale showed the world what a class act he is. Last night he didn’t score a goal himself, but his pace and vision ripped apart the Champions of Europe – probably the best club team in the world. The seeming ease he went past the top right back in the world (Maicon) – I’m betting after 30 minutes he’d wished he’d stayed home. The newbies to the Champion’s League were utterly dominant last night, solid throughout, and everyone played […]
